I have a desktop PC which when I start up it just locks up nothing responds. Only way to get it back on is to press the reset button on the PC. I have to do this once or twice for every start up. The PC than works perfect for rest of the day without any problems.
Event viewer does not show any errors and I have also done a memory test with no errors either.
Thank you in advace for any help.

Even viewer will not show anything unless the seize-up happens after the OS is loaded. If the seize up happens during the POST and BIOS initialisation then there is no OS to record anything.

I would start suspecting a faulty power supply.

When a computer starts up the chip-set sends a power good signal to the PSU once all the different rails have stabilised at the correct voltages. This usually takes less than a second but until the PSU gets this power good signal from the motherboard it only supplies a minimal amount of current to protect the mother board and CPU in case of over voltage. During this stage the CPU is held in a suspended state and stays there until released by the chip-set.

If the PSU never gets this power-good signal then nothing happens. The fans will spin but thats about all.

Check with a known good power supply.

Stuart

You could try reseating the motherboard power connector. Power off and pull the AC plug before doing that.
