So i posted these questions last december or so and I can't believe how dumb I used to be

anyway, now i have a nice 45watt vintage amp with a few rca inputs on the back and I want to plug my computer and as many other devices into it now that i have some cool big speakers hooked up to the amp

the amp has these inputs:
tuner
aux
ceramic
magnetic

i have tried running rca cord from my pc line out to the tuner and the aux inputs

what i want to know is, is this ok to do? i know the aux input is right for this, but is the tuner input ok? what about using the ceramic and magnetic inputs?
i want to plug in a cd changer and a tv and my computer all at once so they can run through the same speakers with the switch of the input selector

common sense isn't very common

Tuner and aux are ok, but ceramic and magnetic should only be used with a turntable. I'm afraid you made a poor purchase if you need 3 inputs.

nah, it was only $8 and it sounds fantastic
It also looks pretty damn cool
i live close enough to do a local pickup so I didnt have to pay for shipping

are those turntable inputs just extra sensitive? or what, I don't know anything about turntables but I would guess that they don't even have preamp levels in their output so that would be why reciever inputs for turntables cant handle a preamp level from a source such as my soundcard's line out
correct or not?

also, my speakers say 70 watts so does that mean since my amp is 45 watts that i am underpowering these speakers?
does the 70 watts mean 70 watts total or 70 watts per channel i.e. 140 watts total?
the speakers say jensen concert series model 1230 maximum 70watts

Thank you!, ham30

"are those turntable inputs just extra sensitive?"

That's right.

70 watts is the maximum your speakers can handle. I've always assumed it was per channel, but I'm not absolutely positive. Anyway, you are perfectly fine with that amplifier.

You may do some searching I believe there may be adaptors out there for the ceramic and magnetic inputs if you must have the extra inputs.
