PC keeps turning off on start up

August 10, 2011 at 00:39:34
Specs: Windows 7
PC keeps turning off on boot up. It ran fine before I opened it up and cleaned out the inside, removed the CPU fan and blew it out. Put it back together and now i always shuts down on start up. I tried to go into bios but after couple seconds in there it shuts down. I've never had this problem, no new software or updates. I think I may have damaged something cleaning it out. Any thoughts please?

Big problem.
If you removed the heat sink from the CPU (the finned part, not just the fan itself) then you need to remove the old thermal compound from the CPU and the mating surface on the heat sink and apply the correct amount back again before reinstalling the heat sink for proper thermal transfer. Your CPU is getting very hot within seconds and thermal protection is kicking in to shut down.
Find your CPU type and look carefully:

You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.
