so i have this grand master plan of having one computer in my room to be just a server and controlling it with my other computer. this computer is just gonna be online 24/7 doing online stuff. so i want this thing to silent. it pretty quiet right now, it has a psu fan and a cpu fan, but i can still hear it at night. its an amd 1700 with a geforce 4, 650 ram, and a 40 gig drive. i have this storage space under my bed its about 20" by 77", and its got a whole bunch of stuff in it. i close it up and my mattress goes on top. if i were to put my computer in there and run all my cables out from under the bed would it overheat in there? and would it also get dangerously hot under my bed?
any help?

You can't completely enclose it. The heat will continue to build up until it does some serious damage. It could even set your bed on fire and fry you.

Let's see if we can outsmart the engineers, you know, the ones who designed that computer to sell as cheaply as possible, so it will compete with all the OTHERS that are trying to make a buck

Don't you think, that if the engineers thought, that they could get away with punching various ventilation holes in the case, and installing 2 or 3 fans, that they would have to "save a buck?"

Don't you think?

If you enclose it, it will get a lot warmer. How about a ventilated place but a lot farther from people, garage, utility room, basement or attic?
