Comment:
I have ASROCK P4i45 GV motherboard, I have installed new DDR 512 RAM with 400 MHz speed, as per motherboard installation guide my motherborad support RAM speed 266/333 MHz, but my dealer says it will work, but my PC is getting restart everytime I put on my PC. Please help me where exactly is the problem.

400mhz ram is usually 'backwards compatible' and usually runs fine in slower speed motherboards, so the dealer is not obviously trying to rip you off. It might be faulty ram, it might be bad connection in the slot. Take it out, make sure contacts clean, put back in and wiggle it a bit to ensure good connection. I have cured misbehaving ram by doing that - of course it might not help in your case. Try it in another slot also. Are you using this on its own or with some other ram that was already in place, if so, try it on its own to see if that helps to try to narrow down what the problem is

ASROCK boards are notoriously bad for compatability so you may never get this to work! Appart from the suggestions above you may also want to set the RAM speed manually in the bios if it's set to automatic at the moment.

In addition to the above comments I would say that as computers get faster RAM selection get more important. In addition to the clock speed of the RAM there are many other factors involved. It is always best to use matched RAM whenever possible. Many MBoard makers have lists of tested modules that will work in the board. Check the Asrock site.
