I fixing this computer for a friend of mine. Here the deal after I do a regular shutdown on windows the computer doesn't want to turn on. I can see the LED on the motherboard. In order to turn it back on I have to unplug it from the the A/C from the wall and wait until the LED on the motherboard shuts off then plug it back to the A/C and it turns ok. I alrady swapped the Power Supply. Reset the Ram and CMOS . Removed the audio card, network card and Modem, but still the same problem. Video is on board. The only I did changed the CPU Fan because wasn't working. The problem was before that. This a Dell Latitude L1000R PIII 1Ghz, 128 MB sdram. Please help. Thanks ltaveras

I've seen this on quite a few other older dell laptops. Each time it was a part that sits directly under the pwr button that had to be replaced. The part was only about $15 and is very easy to replace. When you try it next and it will not turn on, try pushing down on the frame on both sides of the pwr button and holding it down firmly. If this makes it turn back on, that is your problem for sure
