PC doesn't boot

My pc doesn't start. Ichecked de HD,Video Card and memory. It switches on, but there is no boot and no sign on the monitor. Any help?? Thanks. Carlos

Start at the beginning. Remove every card from the machine except video & try booting, if it boots, replace cards one at a time till machine won,t boot, throw that card in the bin and go from there. If machine won't boot with just video card try removing memory sticks (within limits of memory config.) also check power plug to HDD with meter and expect +5 volts & +12 volts, if not then Power supply went walkies.

My computer only turns on some of the time, I get the single beep mentioned above, and then nothing. A single LED light on the tower just stares at me and the screen doesn't turn on. If I turn it off and on again it eventually starts and runs fine, no error messages or anything. Other times I can leave it for an extended period of time and it will come to life after a 5-20 minute pause. WTF, anyone ever hear of this?
