Here's the deal I have a Dell Inspiron 8000 900mh P3 with 512mb of Ram running win2000. I just upgraded the ram to 512 from 128 and now it seems when it really starts to have to work it will just die/turn off/shut down in the blink of an eye. The it takes 5-10 mins to try and re-boot cause it won't reboot right after it craps out. I got the RAM from Crucial other than that it runs just fine. The PC has recognized the ram from what I can tell by viewing the performance window in the task manager and yes this all seem to start after I added the RAM
Any ideas

Sounds more like an overheating problem. Make sre you did not loosen the heatsink on the processor when adding the memory, or unplug the processor fan. Make sure the fan is running on the processor.

Test your memory with the standalone boot diskette memory test programs (free) DocMemory_v2.0 and/or MemTest86_v3.0. Allow them each to run overnight. You should not get any errors or there is a problem.
