PC connection to HDTV

April 19, 2009 at 14:21:18
Specs: Windows XP
For over a year, I have been able to connect my laptop to my HDTV, using the TV as the monitor. Today when I connected the sound and video cables to the laptop, it wouldn't display on the TV. Kept getting the message that there was no RGB signal. Is there some kind of setting on my computer that may have been accidentally changed?

Assuming there's nothing else wrong, the video drivers often automatically disable the TV display after you have disconnected the cables.
When you have connected the cables again,
RIGHT click on a blank area of your main desktop screen, select Properties (goes to Display Properties)
Click on the Settings tab, RIGHT click on the second display and Enable it.
