Hi all, I am currently changing my pc case and have a problem. The case has an lcd display in the front (hdd temp, cpu temp, etc) and the display has a 3 pin molex type plug to connect it to the psu, however the psu only has the usual 4 pin plugs, is there an adapter available or does anyone know the way around this?? In the pic its the plug on the left.

I think that connector is supposed to connect to the MBoard. And then only if your MBoard is compatible. Connecting the PSU isn't going to supply the necessary data for the readout.

Is that the only connector for the readout?

No its not the only connector, case has separate sys temp, hdd temp, and cpu temp, and fan speed sensors, the 3 pin lead goes into the same connection in the LCD circuit board as a 4 pin molex.

In that case I have no idea. I wonder why, if the requirement is 12V, is the connector an odd configuration.

I would check with the case manufacturer. Are you sure you received a complete case with no missing parts?

I emailed them but haven't heard back, so I dont really know what to try next!?

I think one of the 3 wires (red one) may be a 5v.....if that means anything to you?

Some power supplies have a 3 pin connector that is used to monitor the PSU's fan speed. I suspect that's what the connector is for. But evidently your power supply doesn't have that capability.

That is what I thought too. The odd thing is the PSU came with the case.

The case didnt come with the psu, but anyhow I have sorted it by removing the offending plug and connecting the wires, with pin connectors, to the 5v usb ports inside the case, this seems to work fine.
Cheers guys.
