PC 100 RAM and PC 133

OS: Windows 98 SE
CPU/Ram: Celeron 433 MHZ 256 MB

I had preinstalled 128 MB PC100 RAM.I put in a PC 133 MHZ mem.It sees 256 MB is it ok to combine pc100 and pc133?I bought this computer secound handed it had 320 MB i gave one mem stick to my cousin so he could have 128 instead of 64 MB.

Yes, it's ok to mix them but PC133 will run at PC100.

I've never tried it, but I've heard it could seriously damage your mobo. No kidding. So, proceed at your own risk.

Damage? Not sure about that, You pc133 just wont be at full potential since you have the pc100.

It can not and will not harm your motherboard. If you look on the package of PC 133 memory at say Best Buy it will state right on it PC 66/100/133. So you have nothing to fear about mixing and matching them.

Now back in the good ole days of 72Pin SIMM's things where different.

Yeah, I ran a P3 450Mhz/PC Chips 741 with 1 64MB PC100 and 1 256MB PC133 for about 2.5 years with no problems whatsoever.

Ok i guess its kinda like haveing a board that can only take a 5400 rpm harddrive.If you put in a 7400 rpm it will run at 5400 rpm.Want do any harm.I found that out from the manufactor of my computer.Also here.Can't alwasy trust what someone saids on messagefourms.I think this one is a good one.
