Is it possible to use an originally partitioned C drive (2 80Gb "merge" together to become a 160Gb harddisk) as an external drive?

Reformat the drive and make it only 1 partition (160gb). Buy an external hard drive enclosure.

You can put it in an enclosure and, unless it's buggered up, you should be able to see both partitions when you explore the drive.
But you won't be able to boot in a WINXP OS on the existing C: partition ... unless you know something that MS would like you to not know.

Yes, vcheng, if this is an IDE HDD that whose partition table is not corrupted, you should be able to put this drive into and external HDD enclosure and view its contents from another computer.
