hi i have partion magic and i have 2 partions , 1 for my operating system and programs and the other one for DATA. I accidently took the letter off the DAta and when i try to make the drive letter D: i get error message 702 any help..................i want be able to see the drive in MY COMPUTER

This really doesn't have anything to do with Hardware.
How did you "Accidentally" remove the drive letter assignment? Where are you attempting to reassign the drive letter? Have you viewed Symantec's Help/Support to see if this error is documented?

im trying to reaasighn the drive letter to my DATA partition and it happened when i was taking some space away for it for my active partition im just wondering what error 702 means and no i have not been able to find it documented.
