Two parallel lines appered one day on my screen. Its an hp pavilion zv 5000. The lap hasn't been droped or damged in any way. I have it on a desk. I finished working with it one night and the next morning that I turned it on a had two parallel thin lines on my screen. First it was one and a few days latter a second appeared. Try updating the graphics drivers to verify that isn't the problem.

Video drivers will do nothing if the lines appear from the system bootup.

I don't think the OP indicated the lines appear during POST or not. The statement is kind of vague. I agree that if the line appear as soon as the computer is started then it isn't drivers. Could still be caused by the graphics chip, although the screen is more likely.
