From a tech. point of view I see far more Packard Bell units in for repair than Sony units. PB is the main brand name for PC World/Dixons group so you never quite know what's under the skin, though it's usually an NEC unit. Personally I'd stick to Sony as I've had a Vaio for ages now which has done me very well, though if you're a customer of mine go for the PB as the business is always welcome ;-)
