Solved Packard Bell oneTwo L5351

March 23, 2015 at 06:47:35
Specs: Windows 7
When I insert the power cable the lights on the front light up and the cpu fan spins for a couple of seconds, then nothing. No beep posts, no screen illumination, nothing. I've re-seated the 2 RAM modules and checked everything else is plugged in properly and now I'm stumped.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

PSU has been known to cause this symptom (have been Googling) but it's hard to be certain. See what others think.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks

Usually the PSU or motherboard or both (depending on if a bad PSU ruined the motherboard as well.

Did you make any changes to it or fiddle around with it between the last time it worked OK and the first time it didn't?

No fiddling. It was brought to me because the OS was corrupt and would hang mid load, but it would at least boot apparently. Admittedly he's not the most delicate of people so I imagine it happened in transit. Oh well.

Thanks for your help Derek, and to DAVEINCAPS that's what I suspected too, nice to have it confirmed.

Cheers guys.

You're welcome. You might want to remove any add-on cards and temporarily disconnect the drives and see if it still does the same thing. Assuming it does then swap in a compatible PSU and see if that's it.
