Packard Bell Laptop battery plugged in not charging

Specs: Windows 7, 4gb
i got a packardbell en tj65 battery plugged in not charging i replaced the battery but the battery i replaced with its not detected. am trying to update the bios but i cannot because the battery is 0 percent and the required percentage is 20 please help

Never attempt to update BIOS from battery power. Remove the battery and plug your laptop into the mains so it's running on mains power.

If the battery is not recognised or not charging, that's usually because you didn't buy a genuine one from the laptop manufacturer. Buy one from Packard Bell - it will cost more but it will work and it won't damage your laptop like some cheap ones can.

Finally, consider the possibility that the mains charger may be faulty, not the battery.
Or it could be both.
