Hi,
I think after 9 years in IT I did a BIG MISTAKE!!!
I have an ASUS P4C800E-DELUXE motherboard with 20pin MAIN POWER connector.
I bought Enermax Infinity 650W SLI PSU for the reason that I bought also a GeCube ATI RADEON X1950XT 256MB AGP Graphics Card.
Do those two match? The ENERMAX Infinity (hopefully) have a 24pin MAIN POWER CONNECTOR.
Lough at me...
DAMN!
I want your help(?) to say to me that I am an a@$%%$ole....
Digital Family.

Most new PSUs have 20+4 pin main plug. To use it on a board that has a 20-pin main connector, you simply detach the +4 from the main plug & use the 20-pin portion. However, I believe the Enermax Infiniti 650W has a 24-pin plug, not the 20+4.
That PSU is extreme overkill for that setup to begin with...why did you choose that particular model?

What do you mean by that ? "extreme overkill" (sorry for my english) you mean that it is very powerful PSU for that setup?
A friend of mine bought the 620W Enermax Liberty PSU for a similar setup and it has 20\24pin MAIN power connector.I didnt even read that the Infiniti has 20pin.Though, I checked on the site that I bought the PSU and it says (20\24pin !!!???) So...you think I can change it?We'll see...
Thanks!!!

"What do you mean by that ? "extreme overkill""
I mean that your system does NOT need a 650W PSU. Not only that, but those Enermax models are very expensive. The 650W Infiniti sells for about $210 US...the 620W Liberty sells for about $160 US. Believe me, one of the things I stress is to buy a decent brand name PSU, but you could have easily gotten a PSU for less than 1/2 of what you paid. The only saving grace is that you should be able to use that PSU for your next rebuild. Unfortunately, the same can't be said about your AGP video card.
If you look at the description at the following site, you'll see that the Infiniti is said to have a 24-pin plug, not a 20+4-pin plug. I don't know if it will work with your board or not:
ENERMAX INFINITI EIN650AWT $210
Your board/CPU are outdated & don't warrant the amount of money you invested in them. The GeCube X1950XT video card sells for about $270 US, so add that to the cost of the PSU & you've spent about $480 US on an aging S478 system.

Listen what I did (I was simply lucky)
I sold an XFX nVidia 7800GS AGP 256MB for 200 euros (on a fleamarket site!!!) and here in Greece we have a 19% tax on the products we buy.. I have my own bussiness sooo... I get those money back... TOTAL cost for this is about 150 euros, that is ...MY PSU.. (I bought it 160euros).Of course you didnt know that, thats why I'm explaining it to you. ;)
I will check Infiniti again on my PC cause I got some stuff to do before that and I will inform you!
Thank very much for your assistance!

You can buy an adapter for the 24 pin plug. The board you have is a very good board and the vidoe card requires its own power plug. Never can have too much psu. Everything on the board should run better. Psu's are often the root of a lot of problems. Too much stuff not enough power. The adapter is very cheap. Have fun with your new card.

Thanks vincean!
Right now I am using my old PSU, a QTec 500W (May God make it a 500W!!!)
It has only 18A in the 12V rail.. god!
I had an XFX 7800GS AGP card, and compared to my new X1950XT...YEAH, I am having a LOT OF FUN as you are saying !!! :)
thanks vincean! I will check it out!
