Comment:

I recently purchased a pentium 4 3 gig processor. I have one fan plus the standard fan that goes ontop of the procesor in my pc. When I check the temperature of the pc it says 66 degrees one time it even said 71. Is this normal. can the processor burn out because of this? Thanks from b4

Depends. If your talkin about Ferenheit or Celcius. If its Ferenheit, then thats perfect. Nothin to be worried about there, but if it is Celcius, Then I would be pretty dang concerned.... If you are talking about Celcius, which I assume you are... Then Like.... get a water cooling system or a good expensive cooling system.

SZ you are misleading posters and endangering their wallets with comments like this.

"Is this normal"

No your temp is high and since you recently bought the cpu I assume you installed the cpu and perhaps did not achieve a smooth mating of sink to paste to cpu.

or do what i did. i had a HOT P4 prescott.
i installed 8 80mm fans
plus 2 in the ps
and one on the CPU
11 total fans.

of the 8, they are 4blue led 80mm fans
2 on top, cut some blowholes there
2 on the side window
4 up front
i also am going to install at least 2 more underneat the case. blowing up but need some wheels to lift the case a bit to provide for some airflow.

also i use the motherboard monitor software and my system runs "cool" yea right like the prescott will ever run cool.

Forget about water cooling systems and those exotic temp cooling ones., too expensive.

why not just put it in a freezer and run it from there..heheeheh just teasing justtease
>>>>>>SZ....well maybe not!

there is a web site that has a system to keep it cooler and it only costs about 20 bux with s/h
http://www.svc.com/ovcokitbl.html
or go to my picture site and see the different pics of it
