P4 2.2 or 2.4 to 3.2

OS: Win XP Pro
CPU/Ram: P4 2.2 or 2.4 / 1.5Gb

My question is I broke my 2.4 CPU and had to put in a 2.2 in it. Im planning on buying another cpu to replace the one that broke.

So my question is Will i notice any difference at all if i get a 3.2Ghz processor. Everything will still be the same as from the old syste. (ram,vid,hdd,cds,case, EVERYTHING) But the cpu.

With twice the cache, twice the bus speed, and another 800 MHz on your clock? yeah, I think you'll notice the difference. Question is, can your motherboard handle the full bus speed?

What to do you mean twice the cache? my 2.4 had a 512k L2 and so does the 3.2.

Im not gonna spend $700 on getting the one with 2mb L3.

And what kinda difference would i actually notice?

And no my mobo can only handle 2.6 or 2.8 right now i think. not sure on FBS i might buy another one.

What do you use your pc for? You won't notice a difference unless you are running some heavy workloads like video rendering.

Unless you are really unhappy with your system, stay with it or replace the old cpu.

The 3.2 will require a new mobo and memory...$$$ ka-ching!
