Sound won't work, Toshiba P25-S509. Have new Realteck AC97 Audio driver from Toshiba, uninstalled the old AC97 driver and reinstalled the new one, rebooted the computer, Checked the FN Esc key, made sure that there are no Resource conflictes, Checked the Sounds and Audio Devices Properties to see if it tried to play sounds and yes the sound is not Muted. And as a last resort made sure that the wires on the speekers inside the computer were connected.

What was the reason for removing the old drivers? Was the sound not working prior to installing the latest drivers? Did you check to verify the sound is enabled in the BIOS screens? Are your speakers connected correctly and powered?

The sound was not working, checked everything before re-doing the drivers. It's a laptop with built in speekers, and yes I've tried using plug in speekers, they do work on another computer not the laptop so that is not my problem. If it is the sound card (which is intergrated into the motherboard) well that will be fun.

Did you check to see if the sound is enabled in the BIOS like I asked above?
