i am hafin' a prob wif my comp durin' bootup .. SOMETIMES .. it would not b able to identify the PRIMARY hard drive rite away .. n takes a long time ..
so .. i was wonderin' .. if this could b becus of the lack of power thru my comp .. or is it just the hard drive's prob ..?
currently .. i'm usin' a 300W PSU .. components in comp ..
floppy cd rom (52x) motherboard (asus a7v266e) ram x 2 (256ddr each) cpu (1700+) video card (radeon 9600 pro) PRIMARY hard drive (quantum 7200rpm 20gb) SECONDARY hd (maxtor 7200rpm 40gb)
so .. is it cus of the faulty QUANTUM ..? or cus of the lack of power (300W) ..?

It's possible for it to be either one. Try disconnecting the floppy and cdrom, to see if that helps

Do you have the HD on the primary IDE channel as the master? Also, do you have that HD (HD 0) set as the first or second boot device? Floppy could be first. HD 0 should be next. I usually set first to disabled(so I can boot from a floppy without changing all) second as HD 0.
