Hey ppl=)

Ive been playing a few games on my pc recently (e.g. F.E.A.R. and Godfather) and after so long of playing my computer would shutdown.
Ive been told from friends that this is a heat problem and was told to clean out my PC, and buy a better HSF and some Exhaust Fans which ive done.
But befor i install them i wont to clean my insides out cos its very dusty, but i dont not wot is safe to use to do this.

So my question is what do i use to clean it out, i no this may sound like a stupid question but i dont wont to use somthing thats going to blow my PC.

Thx in advance

-FS

get an air duster. That is a can of dry compressed air. Blow out the dust. Use a soft brush to dislodge built-up crud then blow it out with the air. You'll probably find that a good cleanout fixes your problem.

I used to have a signature but it disappeared and I just couldn't be bothered writing another so please feel free to ingore this.

Hi, A vacumn cleaner with a WAND and blowing works OK. There is nothing that a little air will damage. Luck, Jim

I used to buy cans of compressed air, but now I use a small Sears air compressor/inflater that I'd been using for bike tires, basketballs, etc. It has a long tappered blower nozzle attachment & puts out quite a blast, plus you get the luxury of taking your time when cleaning. Now I'll only buy cans if they're free after rebate. lol

Blowing the dust out of your computer every 3 to 6 months is mandatory for the new hot running computers. Even if your computer is water cooled it should be blown out every so often. Electric components attract dust like a magnet. It wasn’t necessary on the older 486 stuff....some of those machines didn’t even need a heatsink.
My machine runs at about 40C on the CPU...when I notice the temp rising to 45C I know its time to blow it out.
