Hi
i have a Sapphire X1950XT graphics card. Have not played games on PC for over a year but decided to give Call of Duty a bash a few weeks back.
I never had any issues previously but this time PC started beeping & eventually turned off....rebooted & fired up ATI temperature tool, restarted game & temp was over 100
I assumed as graphics card & not been used to any degree for ages, that the compound between card & heat sink had cracked so bought a syringe of paste of ebay. Placed a layer on card, placed heatsink back & turned the fan settings right up.
Results - card still overheated & PC crashed Cleaned card again & placed another layer of paste on BUT still card over heats.
