What does the system do when you boot with the new card? If the O/S is not seeing the card you would not be in Windows. What does the O/S see the card as and what card did/do you have in the machine other than the new one? Is the new card AGP and is the old uninstalled, removed or onboard. What about BIOS settings? More info required...

it boots up normally. first bios screen is for the vid card. next, bios of the pc. everything boots as it should. under Settings, it reads (default monitor) on VGA. i installed a 20GB hd with along with win2K after putting it back together. (closet space, make for good firewall) now, this was the original card that came with the pc. it has 8MB of ram on it. plenty to run small 3D graphics & 32 bit color. OS doesn't see what brand, type, ram, bios, anything. all are unavailable. the card is AGP. so a rez of 800x600x16 is the best it can do. before it became closet space, i had it set running 1024 with 32 bit color. the card was placed in a secure static bag for the duration. if something was wrong with card, wouldn't get any graphic at all. the soundcard, nic card, and vid card, are all on fresh install. thats all the info i have. thanks.
