I have a HP ProBook 4530s, Product: XU015UT#ABA. Bad Motherboard. Trying to order the correct Motherboard from Ebay. There are several with a six digit # ending with -001 (xxxxxx-001) They all look the same, pretty much, as mine. So is this -001 number relevant? If so, how do I get the correct Motherboard? Thanks

Contact HP to see if they can supply one.

How do you know the board is bad & not something else? What are the symptoms?

Checked out by who? I was given a tower that supposedly had a bad board & it was "checked out" too. The board was fine, the HDD was bad.

riider is right, it might not be the board, many make assumptions without enough hard facts.
Note that you can download the repair instruction papers from HP and they include the exact model numbers.
IF you do purchase components from ebay, make sure 1- The seller has 98% or better satisfaction rating. 2- You read carefully whether the part is 'new', 'like new', 'pulled from a working machine', is 'original HP part', 'equivalent replacement', or 'replacement part from original supplier', plus is Tested, and Guaranteed.

You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.

So let's make this simple. Drink spilled on board. Burn spots on board. Board fried. So please answer the question I asked above. Thanks for the concern though.
