if the computer still runs, install seatools and run the extended test on the hard drive. It will tell you if the hard drive is failing or not. Use the install for Windows, not dos.

it works on most hard drives. BEFORE running the hard drive diagnostic from seatools. In the windows 7 search box begin typing "memory diagnostic" and it should pop up with the Windows Memory Diagnostic, click on it to open and select restart and test. This will test the ram memory in the computer, as faulty ram also causes faulty hard drive results, we check the ram first. When the memory diagnostic finishes, windows will load again and you can run the seatools test of the hard drive. If both these are ok, you probably have software causes.

Also you should list the system specs for the computer. If it only has 512 ram or 1g running Windows 7, it will not run very nicely either.

If the system specs are good and the tests pass, your most likely problems are related to viruses, malware or installed programs that are slowing you down.

Good luck.
