Comment:
I have 2 x 256MB of PC3200 CL2 DDR RAM, I was in my BIOS today and here is the current setting for them: T(RAS) 7 T(RCD) 3 T(RP) 3 CAS Latency 2
But, from the vendor who I bought the RAM from, their web site says: 2-6-2 2T Timings
So can someone help? Should I change my values? Thanks

Yes you should since it's rated as being 2-2-2-6. It won't hurt to leave it, but 2-2-2-6 is significantly faster.

They should all be set to 2 except for the 7 which should be changed to 6. I never bothered learning what each is called except for CAS Latency which is the most important.

OK...big problem, changed values like suggested, computer won't boot, POST error = memory problem, then realized memory frequency is set 166MHz, so I went into the BIOS again, saw the Memory Freq. was set "To SPD" and defualts to 166MHz, so I had to manually adjust to 200MHz, then changed to 2-2-2-6 config, still won't boot, someone please help!
Summary: PC3200 DDR RAM's physical frequency is 200MHz... they call it 400MHz because it transmits data twice per cycle, resulting in a 400MHz effective frequency. Your RAM's being recognized just fine. Actua...
