Hi,

My optical mouse remains lit up when computer switched off. How can I get this to turn off when I turn off my computer?

This may be normal. Does the keyboard also remain lighted?

My M/Soft optical stays on after power-down also. I read the reason once but forgot.

That's because even when the pc's turned off, there still is a 'stream' of electricity. There's still a flow on all your components. Take a look at your motherboards, it should also have a LED that's lit. As soon as you unplug it, your mouse and keyboard will turn off.

Your optical mouse has it's own power supply(batteries).

Your mouse should eventually turn off if left alone.

Unless your mouse is a 'corded' mouse?

From the readme file for M$ IntelliPoint:

"The pointing device LED light (available on certain Microsoft pointing devices only) may remain on even though the PC is powered off or in power management mode (such as suspend, standby, or hibernation). Certain PC systems may continue to power the port that the pointing device is connected to, even when the system is powered off or in power management mode."

Never argue with an idiot. They will only bring you down to their level and beat you with experience
