My mom has a very similar notebook. If you would like to share the model number I could probably tell you.

It's not a bad deal, just don't expect to run vista on it unless you throw in another 1gb of ram and an IGP that can support 128mb of shared memory that also has pixel shader 2.0 or higher on the IGP to support aero glass on it for vista premium and higher.

A year old with a 1.7 processor? I don't think so. It's probably older than that. Again, it would help if you had the model number. Or even the series.

Cobra R, It had 128 MB of graphics memory. Can it still run vista? and how hard is it to upgrade memory on a notebook?

Doctor1954, Thats true but I dont know, it is 150 dollars less plus thats like the lowest model and if Im going to buy a brand new laptop I wouldnt want to buy that one.

Jennifer SUMN, Well It is a Pentium M? arent those rated at a lower clock speed? I will try and get the Model number today and post it.

Keep the suggestions and comments coming. Thanks in advanced.

Yeah it can run vista home, due to the fact it doesn't have aero glass. Now for Vista premuim or higher the question is does it have pixel shader 2.0 or higher on that igp to run aero glass? If it doesn't then you can't run aero glass, which just means you won't be getting the eye candy features.

It's not hard to install ram on a laptop. Normally there is a door at the bottom of the laptop and all you have to do is open that door and your ram is right there. Then just add ram.

Cobra_R, Thanks for the information. It should have pixel shader 2.0 I mean its only a year old. So for what the specs are and the price that was given do you think its a good deal?

Sempron 1.8GHz, Vista, 512MB RAM, 60GB HDD, ATI Radeon display, 1 year warranty.

It seems similar to the laptop you list in your original post. Does it come with a warranty too?
