Comment:

I was considering upgrading from onboard video to a OEM 8600 gt.

My question is do I need the install driver that comes with the box if it was brand new? or can I just download the drivers from Nvidia website?

I was just worried that if I installed the graphics card and it wouldn't work without the driver CD.

Thanks for the help.

You don't need the CD. Be aware that open box may mean more than just stuff missing. Below is a link to newegg's open box policy.

Type "open box" in the search box.

That's not a good card...notice that it has GDDR2 memory. For gaming, you should get a card that has at least GDDR3. How do you feel about rebates?
