once-fine PC won't POST

I have an ASUS A7V333 Mobo with an Athlon XP2100+. Recently, it wouldn't POST right away and required me to hit the reset button a couple times before it would go. And when it worked, it worked fine. But this got worse and worse, and now it won't POST or boot at all, and I've been hitting reset for about an hour. Any thoughts?

It's not overheating. I didn't overclock it. I checked the MOBO. Everything had been fine, but has now downgraded into this.
thanks

How do I even get there if I can't see anything on the monitor? I can't get at the BIOS period.

I had an identical problem to yours. The cause, in my case, was that lightning had hit, and the computer slowly died over a period of weeks. First the modem went out, then problems reading the hard drive, then boot problems exactly similar to yours.
Check the tops of the capacitors on your mobo. If they are bulging or cracked, it means there has been a strong power surge, and it's time for a new mobo.

Try re-seating all of your PCI cards, video card, and RAM sticks (remove, re-install). You could also spray a little contact cleaner in the slots before re-installing the cards.
