Comment:

I just bought a PowerSpec 6640 with ATI X200 on-board video, sharing 64MB of RAM. It has a PCI-Exprees slot, and I also bought a GeForce 6200 256MB PCI-Express video card. I went into the BIOS to disable the on-board video and cannot locate the setting anywhere (I have done this many times with systems which have on-board video and AGP slots, gennerally found in Integrated Peripherals section). My question is: Does the PCI-Express automaticly detect the video card when one is present in the PCI-Express slot and then disables the on-board video?

What does your user manual say on how to disable your AGP video? Are there any jumpers that have to be moved?

CTBIOS13, that program gets you the motherboard type and manufacturer
http://www.motherboards.org/

you got to read the manuals.

You can also go into the device manager and check the box that says 'Disable this device in all profiles'.

According to your manual, there should be an option under PNP/PCI Configurations that allows you to primary display interface.

Primary Display Options are:

0. [Auto] for a PCI-e card.
1. [Internal GFX] for the intergrated video.
2. [PCI Mode] for a PCI card.

Goodluck.

My sig is on sabbatical.

Thanks to Sabertooth. I found the setting, it was set to Auto, so when I inserted the board it was recognized.

And thanks to everyone else for responding.
