Im trying to install a geforce 4 mx440 but i need to disable the onboard video device first. I can't do it from the device manager, and the BIOS doesn't give me too many options (that I understand anyway)... I went to the standard CMOS settings and then to video, and selected is EGA/VGA, with options listed CGA 40, CGA 80, and MONO... what do I do?

Look for onboard video memory, select disable. That may work...

If not in the bios there may be a jumper on the motherboard. What's the name and model of the motherboard?

Install your new card first and then the driver for it. Fter that worry about disabling the onboard video adapter. It's not really necessary, you know.

My BIOS also had no option to disable the i810 intergrated graphics ,however I disabled it in device manager under display adapters ! Dont try remove in device manager ,because each time you boot up the system will detect the device and prompt you to install it ! In the BIOS I set it to PCI frist as the prefered display adapter, in my case I was installing a PCI Graphics card ,no AGP on M.B. :-( Good Luck,Nick
