Name: Bill
Last night I hibernated my computer. While I was in school my little brother apparently was on it because he was telling me how he couldn't figure out the password with my hint, lol. Also, it didn't recover from hibernation, it booted Windows normally. When I reached desktop I got an error to this effect, "Your system has recovered from a serious error, click here to view log".
Right... So I open Internet Explorer, to find I am not connected to the web. My LAN is inaccesible, etc. I check the LEDs on the Onboard LAN, off. Hmm, bad cabling? I find at the hub my wire was disconnected...no one has fessed up yet, but no one in my family knows what a damn hub is, so I don't know how the knew to unplug it, unless it fell out when my mom was cleaning her office, which is where the hub is. So I plug it back in, relieved. After a reboot I was dismayed to see my Internet was down, and the LEDs still off. So I grabbed my older box, plugged into the same wire, and the LEDs, and Internet worked. So in device manager, I uninstalled my ethernet adapter, re-installed, re-booted. LEDs still off! So I just a few minutes ago slapped in a PCI Ethernet, but I hate this I have been so proud clean case, now I got one more slot slowing down air flow! I got a mobo with onboard LAN for a reason! Is it dead, or what? Did my brother fry it, how?
I have a Gigabyte GA-7VAXP motherboard.
Help me, please!
Thanks, Bill

Silly me, I unistalled my LAN, and Network bridges, and had the auto-reinstalled, fix the problem!
sorry
