I have a new A7N8X mother board and the onboard eithernet has never worked. I have installed the proper driver and windows xp has found the hardware and recognizes it, but it gives me the message that says " a network cable is unpluged." I have tried disabling my other eithernet card and still my onbaord card does not work. I dont kno what to do. Can somebody please help?? Thanks in advance.

This is not meant to be rude but did you enable the onboard LAN? My MSI board had it disabled from the gate. Took a little rooting around in the bios but I did find and enabled it. I have 2 other pci type net cards and they all work fine together. Post back if you need any more help. We'll be here.
I may be crazy, but I'm not stupid...

if it gives you the message that it is unplugged then it is enabled in the bios. if it were not, it wouldnt show up in windows. Not to be to simplistic but, is it unplugged?

Why not just use the PCI card?

Well, then. If everything you've tried has failed to get the onboard to work, then perhaps it's defective.
