Onboard audio 8-channel with 7.1sp?

Hi, I have an Asus P5AD2-E Deluxe motherboard which has an Onboard High Definition Audio 8-channel and my question is, Can I use a 7.1 Speakers on this motherboard without buying another sound card? Thanks

8 channel is 7.1 the .1 refers to the sub, ie the 8th channel (2 front satellite, 1 front centre, 2 side satellite, 2 rear satellite and the sub)
