I recently bought parts for a brand new computer when I turn it on, the fans start, but I hear no noise, and the bios does not load. I have tried the video card with another computer; works great. I tried the processor with another ecs motherboard, and it worked fine as well. The RAM is brand new, and should work as well. I've tried resetting the bios already. Any ideas? Here's my specs...
motherboard=l4s8a2 mainboard p4 ecs
video card=128 mb ddr agp 8x/4x ati raedon
processsor=2.4 p4
ram=512 ddr
I realy do not think the problem is the motherboard...I have tried 3 motherboards that should be p4 combatable. I tried the processor at fryz...I've set up other computers so the jumper cables should be correct...Could the problem be the ram? or an imcombatable video card? Thanks

From my point of view the problem is either the ram, or the motherboard or the power supply. Try the rams on another comp, if you cant just change em, tell the store they dont work.(Happens a lot since RAMs are VERY fragile). If thats not it just try someone else's power supply. Still not working?, then you have to change ur motherboard.
But to tell u the truth, from the sound of it, I think its the rams, verify if they are the right type, if they are, get some new ones. Other then that I can give u stuff u can check: Jumper missing on motheboard, power supply not good, or cables not well plugged.
Hope this helps and u get ur computer fixed up.
I ask you one thing, just gimme news.

Recheck to power connector of the board. I had a bad cantact once that was too wide so it doesn't connect as it should.
The computer also wouldn't boot!

www.memtest86.com go there d/l virsion 3.0 save it to your desktop then put it onto a 3 1/2 floppy and put into your computer and boot it up,it can take upto 20 mins (so im told)it should test your ram and give you a report on your ram....but i havent tried it b4...im having a similar problem and the tech i got my puter thw gave me this advise...i end up taking it bak to get him to check it out in the end (just in case your interested)...good luk

The CMOS coin battery on your M.B. could be dead .This would cause your PC to lose ts CMOS settings when you turn off the PC. You can get a new coin battery at any place that sells watch battery's . One way to check your CMOS battery is by seeing if your PC is keeping the correct time ! If its losing time then you can assume you needed to replace the coin battery. They have a expected life span of 3-5 years ? However it seems most last longer then that !
Good Luck ,Nick
