I think you are looking at the wrong connector on the computer. The monitor connection is male and the computer connection is female.

Its been like that since the very first PC was made. Are you sure you are not looking at the RS-232 connection which is male on the computer. The RS-232 has nine pins, the monitor has 15 pins.

There is no female connection on the computer to stick my 15pins! Which is why I am asking about an adatpter.

Do you have a video card in the mobo?
Like Stuart said a male connector is a serial RS-232 connector, and if it's on your mobo, then I'm sure that's what it is and you need a video card.

If it ain't broke upgrade it!!!

hold on a minute, your building a computer? no offence but if i was you m8 id pay abit extra and get a shop to do the work for me, with you knowledge you could end up with a very serious injury. your motherbaord obviously has no onboard graphics and you obviously dont know what a graphics card is, so save yourself alot of money from fried parts and get a a small indipendant shop to do the work for you.
