Those with older Maxtor or Quantum hard drives may use the 2001 v3.03 of the Maxtor tools PowerMax diagnostics and MaxBlast tools.I have tested the Power Diag program on a Quantum Fireball CR6.4A 6.4GB and it works well to run the tests to certify the drive. These programs should be uploaded to other service websites for safe keeping:Maxtor does not offer them anymore.

Download dcp286.exe,maxplast.dcp and powermax.dcp.To make a diskette copy the file at the root of one of your drive like C.Insert a diskette in the A drive and run the programs in a dos windowed session.
dcp286.exe c:\maxplast.dcp a: (press enter)
dcp286.exe c:\powermax.dcp a: (press enter)
Good luck.

Thanks, got 'em.

My diskettes are getting shaky and I can't find my backup burn.
