Yes; you will probably need the BIOS upgraded (flashed).

Good luck with this Russian board.

6LX2 motherboard...sounds like that board is based on the 440LX chipset, so no, you can't put in a 450mhz P2.

The LX is an older chipset, and only takes 66MHz-bus CPUs. The 450 is a 100mhz-bus CPU.

The fastest chip you could put in that thing would be the 333mhz P2. (or a Celeron up to 533mhz, but you'd need a Slot1 to Socket 370 Slocket adaptor for that, and you'd need to make sure the board takes Celerons)

If your mobo only does 66mhz fsb then it will not run at full speed. the 450mhz cpu needs 100mhz fsb. 66 is two thirds of 100 so it will run at 2/3 of 450 = 300.
I am not 100% certain it will run at all, but i am fairly certain it will run, and if it does ,it would be equivalent of a pentium2 - 300mhz

The 440EX seems to have identical specs to the 440LX...it only supports 66mhz bus chips.

I used a slocket convertor to run FCPGA Celeron 600 on an LX Asus motherboard. Using the overclocked 83 MHz bus, it ran at 750 smooth as silk. But you cannot run Windows XP/2000; neither operating system will install or run on an LX chipset motherboard running a Celeron 2. Only the Windows 9X or Linux operating systems can be run using that combination. It has to do with missing microcode, and there is no known workaround.

I forgot to mention, I think your best bet is to go with the PPGA 533 Celeron in a slocket. That would be pretty quick, allow you to run any operating system, and you could probably overclock it a little. If you could run the FSB at 75 MHz, that would give you 600. The FCPGA Celerons are faster, but not being able to run XP or 2000 is a major drawback IMO.
