I was given a old laptop by a friend ,he told me good luck that it kept freezing up on him ,however I have it running fine ,the only problem besides the battery being unrechargable ,so you have to use the adapter and plug it in, is when you boot it up each time you have to reset the BIOS because the CMOS battery must be dead ? Are they easy to replace like on a desktop ? Can you access it from the bottom with actually taking the this apart ? I know this probably is differant with each modle ,I have worked on desktops ,no exprience with laptops however ! Once I set the BIOS to default settings ,all is good ,I defraged the 3 Gig H.D. Just something for my 9 year old to mess around with ! Thanks Nick

Sought support on Toshiba's site - maybe looked for a service manual there?

Most Toshiba's I've opened used a small rechargeable battery for the CMOS. There are usually 3, main, ram, and CMOS. Search GOOGLE for batteries for the model.
