I've got an old Zenith data systems computer(EASY PC) from 1987 with a lot of software and all the original manuals. The computer still works great it was givin to me about a year ago. I am wondering is this computer worth anything since its so old and does anyone collect old pcs?
thanks

I remember reading somewhere about old computers being worth as much or more than their original price. Apparently they are of interest to collectors. It might pay to use Google, as well as other search engines, to see what you can find out. You just might get a nice surprise.

Awesome. I think that's cool that you have that. I often thought about the collectable value of older home computers, I am still hanging onto my apple IIe and IIc for the heck of it, in hopes that they might be worth a buck or two someday, or at least increase in novelty value. My IIc is bitchen, has an additional external floppy, imagewriterII printer, apple monitor, joystick... back in the day before the mouse... haha sorry, I got caught reminiscing.Any ways. Good luck, Red.
...if you find any cool info, I'd dig a post here about it. Thanks.

Collectors really don't care much about Wintel computers. They were mass-produced at such an astounding rate that there's too many of these things. "collectable" vintage computers include Osborne, Otrona, some Commodores, TRS-80s, etc.
That being said, those Zenith laptops are among the very first true "laptop" computers and had an interesting design. They are seen regularly on eBay an always get a bidder or two. I think the selling prices are low though. Do a "completed items" search on eBay to see what the true value of your Zenith is. I can't say for sure, but I'd vaguely guess somewhere between $10 and $50 depending on condition, accessories, etc.
Re: Red...
You should look at eBay also the check the value of your Macs. There are tons sold on there and you should be able to find a wide range of comparible systems to yours. The very first Macs are collectible, my LC III isn't worth crap, and yours is somewhere in-between.

re: ??????
Oops, your Zenith isn't a laptop, is it? Then I can't even guess on the value, but I doubt it's of any interest to collectors. Old desktop PCs sell for *very* little. For instance I just bought a PII, 400 mhz, 64 MB IBM for $45. Not a great deal, just the going rate.
To the list of machines that are collectible, add: Atari, TI99, Kaypro, Mattel, Ohio Scientific, etc., etc.

re: red again,
"back in the day before the mouse"
Interesting... The first public showing of a computer mouse was in 1968!
