about ever 2-3 months i like to do a fresh install of XP. This time around my computer slowed down. In sandra my memory is fine. But in all the CPU test im half of what i should be if not slower. Also in 3dmark2001 im only getting 11000ish. So i reinstalled again with the same out comes. There is not software on the system at all other then drivers. Heres my setup

3.4 550 P4 Hyper Threading on
Asus P5P800
2X512 OCZ PC3200 Dual CHannel
60GB Maxtor SATA
Radeon 9700 Pro

All this that lastest drivers. And sp2. I have yet to try the lastest bios as i dont have a floppy drive at the moment. Any advice or help what so ever would be awesome. Thanks Guys.

how did you install your SATA drivers without a floppy?

are you running at 3.5 ghz?
have you checked your speeds with cpu-z or sandra?
are bios settings right? you may be able to change the multi in that asus board with that 550 ( not 100% sure about that )

You try any hard drive testing to make sure that your hard drive isn't going bad. Some times when people run test for problems they completely miss doing a hard drive test and if you have a lot of bad sectors on your hard drive everything will become slower. I mean, the hard drive is the last thing to complete a process since it is much slower then anything else and if you have a lot of bad sectors on your hard drive the completion time will even become even longer.
