What is the difference between an MX440 GPU and an MX440SE GPU ? I can't find a review on google.
There are some dirt cheap MX440SE cards on sale and I'm considering buying one. I notice there is no fan on the GPU, only a heat sink, so it will be quiet which is good.
I suspect it is an MX440 crippled in some way to keep costs down but I haven't found the difference yet.

Thanks,

In reply to my own message, Nvidia says....

GeForce4 MX 440
Fill Rate: 1.1 Billion Texels/Sec.
Triangles per Second: 34 Million
Memory Bandwidth: 6.4GB/Sec
Maximum Memory: 64MB

GeForce4 MX 440-SE
Fill Rate: 1 Billion Texels/Sec.
Triangles per Second: 31 Million
Memory Bandwidth: 5.3GB/Sec.
Maximum Memory: 64MB

This doesn't look like much of a difference to me considering the price. Comments welcome.

Thanks,

Why is the regular better than the SE? Kinda odd.

SE (probobly Special Edition) sounds like it was made to be used in a certain computer, like Dells or Gateways (i know Gateway is using a SE GF4MX440 card in some of their computers), so it might have been made a little lower just so these big companies could pay less, thats all.

Thanks fink36, that sounds like a good explanation...more of a marketing distinction.
For $70 US and with TV out and DVI in , the card I'm looking at sounds like a bargain. It will tide me over until doom III comes out. Hopefully the FX will be common place by then and there will be a good $120 US card that I can afford. Perhaps an FXMX ?
