Help! I have a video card issue. I recently got a new motherboard and reinstalled windows XP. Everything works except I get lagging in my windows when I scroll internet or any documents. This is the routine I use to get it to work. When I log on, I go to device mgr and uninstall my NVDIA GeForce2 MX 200 under display adapters. It has a yellow exclamation next to it and the properties says “This device cannot start. (Code 10)”. Then I scan for Hardware changes and it re-installs. Then I change my resolution because its 800x600. At that point everything works, until I reboot, then I have to do it all again. So it appears my card is working. My card is in PC1 bus 1 if that matters. I even ran Driver Cleaner Pro, but no luck. I pulled out my modem card. No luck. Then updated my DirectX to the most current. No luck. I don't think I can change slots with my video card. Looks like only one slot will fit. I haven't uninstalled the onboard video card, as I'm not sure what to look for there. My new motherboard and processor is an ASRock K7VM3 Socket A (Socket 462) VIA KM266Pro Micro ATX AMD Motherboard and AMD Sempron 2400+ Thoroughbred 1.667GHz Socket A Processor Model SDA2400DUT3D
Thanks in advance for any help.

Completely uninstall the nVidia drivers. Run DriverCleaner to remove any remnants, then install the following drivers:
http://www.nvidia.com/object/winxp_...
And make sure that you've also installed the correct VIA chipset drivers (Retro 4in1 version):
http://www.viaarena.com/default.asp...

what do you use the computer for, do you need to use the geforce 2 card? if not playing games you may as well use the on-board graphics. Geforce 2 mx200 is not that much better then the on-board graphics probably as geforce 2 mx 200 is low spec (much lower than geforce 2 mx400 for example). It definitely would be a bit better for 3d games, but if you done play games then doesn't matter. You will need to instal the VIA graphics drivers for the on-board to reach its full potential.
On board video is probably enabled/disabled in bios / setup. Probably accessed by keep tapping the delete key when you switch on, then you find an entry for the shared video memory (might have slightly different description), probably has options of 64mb/32mb/16mb/disabled or similar.

I went ahead and activated the on board graphics card instead. But I still have the same problem. Except now instead of my display adapter saying "Nvidia GEForce" it says "VIA S3G KM400/KN400" made by VIA/S3 Graphics, Inc." But I still always have to uninstall and reinstall then, change resolution for it to work. Why doesn't it remember the settings when rebooting?? Thanks.
