I have a 20gig maxtor drive with 2 partitions on it in windows xp. One of the drives is recognized in my computer but is inaccessible "invalid parameter". In fdisk it is recognized as fat16. It was partitioned as ntfs! I want to recover the files on there. Any help?

I dout you can recover it. You might try it in a '98-ME machine as a slve drive and "maybe" it will let you access it as a FAT16 partition.
You are probally out of luck though.

Depending on how badly you need your files, the only thing I can suggest is buying a special software that may be able to reverse the NTFS file system back to FAT (could cost you). If not take the drive to a tech.
At least you may be able to recover some of your files if not all.
Check out Ontrack or Norton they may be able to help also.
