My pc is Dell Dimension XPS T 700r, P3-700 with Win XP pro. This pc was working ok before,

Last week, I changed DVD drive, while I turn on the pc, nothing show on the pc monitor.
I checked pc -- PC is running without any beep sound, video card ( place to other pc is work )and conncetion are good. PC monitor is good because conncet to other pc is work.

I don't know what is happen and what is wrong to cause nothing show on pc monitor ?

ok cool the power is on, but is it stuck at the boot screen? did you update your bios when you put the new dvd drive in?

check the ribbon cable. make sure the red edge is next to power plug.
by chance did you take the floppy drive power cable loose??
if its not on properly, no boot, and mebbe a burnout.

unplug the DVD (ribbon and cable) and see if the PC boots up fine.
If it does, then make sure you have the jumper set correctly on the DVD drive and also the cable put in the right way.

If it doesn't boot, "video card ( place to other pc is work )and conncetion are good."
remove the video card and try booting up again. You said it worked fine before you added those things.


Greensystemsgo, I have never heard you had to up-date your bios before installing A DVD drive...I've installed many and never had to do that once.


Some HELP in posting on Cnet plus free progs and instructions
Hopefully my advice will help you...Please post back your result
