Notebook screen goes black

I was using my notebook and all of a sudden the screen went black. I tried turning off the power and then back on but there was no image at all and it remains like that and I don't know what to do. anyone knows about this prob and how to solve it?

The connector for the screen on laptops is very delicate sort of like an inch ribbon and prone to problems after time you can take the thing apart if you have the right tools and re-connect it
