i am looking to buy this HP notebook but it has no hard drive. the seller says its IDE but i cant find one. all i see is sata. can someone tell me where i can find one cheap. somewhere between 40 and 80 gigs. this might be my first laptop and i want it to work.

I suggest that you pass on the deal. It might sound like a good deal, but purchasing a notebook without a working hard drive is asking for problems.
